Erica Millar Design

Erica Millar Design is a New York City–based interior design firm specializing in high-end residential projects. Founded by Erica Millar in 1988, the firm works across a variety of aesthetic styles, with an emphasis on understated elegance and timelessness. Its approach is holistic and collaborative, engaging clients throughout the process and considering their individual lifestyles. Erica’s knowledge of fine and decorative arts informs a balance of contemporary and historic references, creating comfortable, beautiful spaces that reflect the people who live in them.

The firm handles residential renovations and new construction, contributing from design inception through construction. Through longstanding relationships with select artisans, Erica frequently develops bespoke finishes and furnishings tailored to each client. EMD works closely with builders and architects, often collaborating with Erica’s husband, Russell Riccardi, of Russell Riccardi Architect. Erica studied fine arts at Sarah Lawrence College, and her experience before establishing the firm included work in the offices of Frank O. Gehry, Robert A.M. Stern, Ward Bennett, and Kohn Pederson Fox.
